Readers want looters to be jailed after refunding the stolen money
A whopping 76% of Pulse Nigeria Poll voters think that people who
looted Nigeria's money should be sent to jail after they must have
refunded their loots.
On Pulse Nigeria Poll of Thursday, January 21, the topical issues of treasury looters in the country came on the front burner thus:
'The coming of President Muhammadu Buhari has
thrown up revelations of how billions of Nigeria's money were looted by
corrupt government officials which almost brought the nation to its
knees.
From former National Security Adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki, Peoples Democratic Party National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, former PDP Board of Trustees Chairman, Tony Anenih, former Anambra State Governor, Jim Nwobodo, to Chief Olu Falae, Dr. Raymond Dokpesi, Haliru Bello, Jafaru Isah,
and others, the names keep rolling and Nigerians are shocked at the
sheer corruption that permeated the country in the past 16 years of the
PDP leadership.
Many have recommended
very stiff punishment for the looters including death sentence to life
imprisonment while others believe the monies should be recovered and
they should be set free.'
The teaser for the day was:
How Nigeria voted:
12% - They should be given the death sentence
5% - They should be jailed for life
12% - They should be banned from holding any political post
76% - They should refund the money and still be jailed
