If not for the intervention of the Osun State Police Command, a suspected female kidnapper who disguised as a mad woman while perpetrating the crime, would have been lynched to death by angry men in Osun State.
According to eyewitnesses, the woman's cover was blown after a man heard her conversation on the phone with another person, probably the leader of her kidnap gang at the Oriolori area of Ikire in the state.
The witness said that the woman who was speaking in low tones, raised the suspicions of the man when she allegedly said in the Yoruba language:
'Omo obirin kekere shi wa pelu iya re. Mo nwo na’, which literary means: ‘The little girl is still with her mother, I am watching.’
The man who overheard her was said to have raised the alarm and when mobs gathered and began the woman, she allegedly confessed that she has been using the madness as a disguise to perpetrate the crime.
