Monday Enuma, a fake pharmacist in Kaduna State, has been arraigned before a Federal High Court, Abuja, for selling counterfeit drugs.
The National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), presented Enuma, who pleaded not guilty to the charges.
According to the suspect, he had no idea that the drugs were fake as they bore the same information as the original product.
Justice Nnamdi Dimgba of the court, however advised the accused to stop distributing fake drugs, as he was putting innocent lives at risk.
“If your relative is ill, will you send those drugs without NAFDAC number to them? That is not the way to make money; you have to stop selling fake drugs because you could incur the wrath of God", the judge said.
The Daily Post reported that Enuma was granted bail in the sum of N10m with two sureties paying a sum of N5m each.
