Soldiers combs Delta State for pipeline bombers
The
military has begun the deployment of troops in Delta State to apprehend
those who attacked oil facilities in the state recently.
The
Acting Director, Defence Information, Brig-Gen. Rabe Abubakar, told one
of our correspondents on the telephone in Abuja on Sunday that the
military had deployed enough troops to dominate the areaa and commence
the search for those behind the attacks on the strategic assets of the
nation.
Budget: Senate may delay debate
The
three-day debate on the 2016 Budget proposal, slated to begin
(tomorrow) at the Senate may not start due to the inability of the
executive to send the soft copy of the 2016 Appropriation Bill presented
by President Muhammadu Buhari on December 22.

Tension as military invades five ijaw communities
FIVE
communities in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South West Local Council, Delta
State were invaded by the military yesterday morning. There was no
direct explanation for their action. But The Guardian learnt that the
soldiers invaded the communities in search of militants near the
locations where pipelines were blown up .

N60b soft loans coming for one million traders
No
fewer than one million traders and artisans are billed to get a soft
loan of N60,000 each this year as part of the safety nets for the poor
in Budget 2016, it was learnt at the weekend. An insight into the budget
estimates, which the Senate is still dilly dallying over, revealed that
this plan will cost an estimated N60 billion.

Federal Government has said it will shut unregistered poultry farms,
following a fresh outbreak of the Avian Influenza (AI). Director of
Veterinary Services and Pest Control Services in the Federal Ministry of
Agriculture and Rural Development Dr. Egejuru Eze said this at a
sensitisation campaign for poultry farmers in Kuje and Gwagwalada
councils, Abuja, at the weekend.

Charts show Nigerian stocks to bottom at 20,000 points

ongoing slump in Nigerian stocks since 2014 may persist until at least
the benchmark index hits the 20,000 points mark, according to analysis
of long-term price averages or charts. The benchmark NSE all share index
(NSEASI) fell 16.39 percent in 2014, 17.35 percent in 2015 and is
already down more than 15 percent in the first 10 trading days of 2016.
